   Before entering the intersection. A limit line is a wide white line that shows drivers where to stop before an intersection or crosswalk. If there is no limit line, stop before you enter the crosswalk, and if there is no crosswalk either, stop before you enter the intersection. The sign post is not the reference point, and nosing into the intersection puts the vehicle into cross traffic. After stopping, look left, right and left again and go only when it is safe.

Continuing slowly is not acceptable because it keeps you exposed to head-on traffic. A night cue is red road reflectors shining in your headlights. If you see the sign or red reflectors, stop compounding the error and get out of that direction safely.
