Washington permit test: what to bring

What to bring to the Washington permit test

Who this checklist covers: First-time standard passenger-vehicle learner permits completed in person with a photograph: age 15 with approved driver training, or age 15 years 6 months and older through the knowledge-test route. Includes citizens and noncitizens. Excludes enhanced/REAL ID credentials, transfers and road tests.

Bring originals unless the official list says copies are accepted. Items marked Under 18 apply only to minors.

Use an approved knowledge-test provider or the driver-training enrollment route, then book a driver licensing office appointment to finish the photo-permit application. Bring your identity documents and minor approver if applicable.
