What to bring to the Minnesota permit test

Who this checklist covers: First-time standard Class D instruction permits, ages 15 and older, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. Excludes REAL ID, enhanced credentials, transfers and road tests.

Bring originals unless the official list says copies are accepted. Items marked Under 18 apply only to minors.

Where to go and how to book

Book the Class D written test at a DVS exam station. Bring identity documents and, if under 18, the Blue/Pink Card. Complete the permit application, vision screening and payment after passing.
