What to bring to the Massachusetts permit test
Who this checklist covers: First standard non-REAL-ID Class D learner permit for Massachusetts residents age 16 or older, including minors, adults and applicants using the foreign-document Option B. Covers the document/vision appointment and in-person knowledge exam. REAL ID and online-exam equipment are outside this checklist.
Bring originals unless the official list says copies are accepted. Items marked Under 18 apply only to minors.

Where to go and how to book
Start online and book a Service Center appointment. AAA members may use an eligible AAA location for the document visit; choose an RMV center for in-person testing.

REAL ID
This standard Class D checklist includes Option B foreign-document applicants; the separate REAL ID checklist requires lawful-presence evidence and two address proofs.
