Independent broker note
How we work with Kemper Specialty
QualitySpace Insurance Agency is an independent broker appointed with Kemper Auto (California non-standard underwritten by Infinity Insurance Company and affiliates). We do not represent Kemper Specialty; we represent you. This page is editorial information about a carrier we shop, not an endorsement. Coverage is bound by the carrier's written confirmation, not by anything on this page.

Kemper fit
The Bristol West alternative for non-standard California auto
Kemper's specialty auto unit is a national non-standard writer; in California its non-standard book is largely written on Infinity Insurance Company paper (the brand many longtime OC clients still ask about). Kemper writes the same kinds of California non-standard cases Bristol West does: AB60, SR-22, ITIN-only documentation, no-prior-insurance profiles, recent at-faults. For a given household, Kemper can come back $20 to $60 a month cheaper than Bristol West or $20 to $60 a month more expensive (illustrative), depending on the rating factors. We always quote both.
When we route to Kemper instead of Bristol West
ITIN-heavy intake and certain ZIP-specific rate patterns
Three patterns push us toward Kemper at intake. First, ITIN-only documentation cases (no SSN, no passport-based path) sometimes price better at Kemper. Second, certain Santa Ana and central Long Beach ZIPs return better Kemper rates than Bristol West for the same profile. Third, household profiles with one AB60 driver and one regular-license driver sharing a policy sometimes work cleaner at Kemper's underwriting.
The Infinity legacy
What changed when Kemper acquired Infinity
Many longtime clients still call to ask about Infinity. Infinity was acquired by Kemper, and most of Infinity's California non-standard book now sits under Kemper Specialty. The product is similar but the policy paper and the claims-handling apparatus is Kemper's. If you have an old Infinity policy still in force, it will renew under Kemper paperwork next cycle.
Questions we hear at intake
Kemper Specialty questions from Westminster clients
Is Kemper the same as Infinity?
Effectively yes for new business in California. Kemper acquired Infinity and the California non-standard book transitioned to Kemper Specialty. Same general appetite, similar pricing tier, different paperwork.
Why would I choose Kemper over Bristol West?
Price, mostly. For the same case, Kemper sometimes prices $20 to $60 a month below Bristol West (illustrative) and vice versa. We quote both on every non-standard case and recommend whichever wins for your specific profile.
How fast does Kemper file the SR-22?
We bind the policy and submit the SR-22 the same day when the case allows; the electronic filing then typically posts at California DMV within 2 to 5 business days.

We never quote a single carrier in isolation. Every intake gets at least 3 carrier comparisons. Kemper Specialty is one option among the 8 we shop.
