 Trouble Sending Email?
Solution
If you are having trouble sending email from within an email client such as Outlook, Thunderbird, MacMail etc, please change the outgoing SMTP port number to '587' instead of '25' if that is what is currently applied. This setting can be found in the advanced settings of your email account configuration.

For Outlook:

Select Tools-> Account Settings, highlight the account you are using under the Mail tab and select 'Change' Click More Settings, select the Outgoing server tab, click on the Advanced tab and change the Outgoing SMTP Port to 587

For Thunderbird:

Select Tools > Account Settings, and select Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left pane of the Account Settings dialog. Select the smtp server in question and click 'Edit' and change the port number there.

For MacMail/Mail.app:

From the Mail toolbar, select Mail->Preferences, select the Accounts Tab. At the bottom of that window select 'Server Settings' under the Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP), click OK.
