What does Alerta actually check? Only the webserver? Currently mysql is not accesible (from php anyway) so the site(s) are basically down. Does that show as downtime?

(and as I post this it's working again, but is has been down for at least 15 mins --possibly more since I just looked 15 mins ago)

If you read the rest of the topic:

"If I am correct it only check every X amount of minutes, so the server can be restarted and brought back online without the system seeing that.

Also it checks if the webserver is up, what is dishing out the pages, that can be working but the php/mysql/ or any other script on the server might be down, hence giving the impression of downtime to the user, but as far as the uptime reports it is still working.

Cheers Coaster! I quickly scanned the topic and (obviously) should've read it more carefully.

Anyway, it does mean the reports say little about service levels since the most common issues seems to be exceeding the max connection to the mysql (by the combined users of a server).

Question accurate?

How accurate are those reports? Because server 12 was down "all day" on January 10 (pretty safe to say 8+ hours). The Alertra report says 6 hrs, 38 mins, 59 secs for the whole month of January. Doesn't look right.

Question

For server 5, the Alertra page says "Device Data Currently Unavailable".

A colleague of mine got an email to me bounced over the weekend, and I would like to see whether there was a problem with the server. Any ideas why the Alertra report doesn't work and when it will be back?

Thanks.
